She pointed directly at the gardener and asserted “You’re not a gardener! You’re-”
(Finish that sentence and I'll know I can tell you about the next part! )
Hincksville Survey Almanac page: Hint 1
Each of the groups of people (pictured under the pie charts) answered exactly one of the survey questions. In order to find the hidden message, find the group that answered yes and the group that answered no to each of the survey questions.
Hincksville Survey Almanac page: Hint 2
For the “Savory” question, Mr. Hincks has pointed out a group of four people who responded no. Since those four people were 80% of all respondents, you can know that only one person answered yes on that survey. In the same way, find a pair of groups for each of the other surveys, so that the percentages match the number of respondents.
Hincksville Survey Almanac page: Hint 3
The Waterproof survey had a group of three for yes, and a group of one for no. The Savory survey had a group of four for no, and a group of one for yes. The Potential survey had a group of six for yes, and a group of four for no. The Misshapen survey had a group of seven for no, and a group of three for yes.
Hincksville Survey Almanac page: Hint 4
Mr. Hincks wrote in numbers above the letters in Waterproof and those match the numbers written below the groups. Now that you have figured out which groups go to which surveys, you can get two letters from each survey.
Hincksville Survey Almanac page: Hint 5
In the Waterproof survey, there were three yes votes. Collect the letter beneath the number three in Waterproof, which is T. There was only one no vote, so the second letter is W.
Hincksville Survey Almanac page: Hint 6
When you collect two letters from each survey you end up with TWO STEPS.
Hincksville Survey Almanac page: Hint 7
The handwriting at the bottom of this page suggests that the large number in this section is backwards. You’ll need to flip it around before it’s useful.
Hincksville Survey Almanac page: Hint 8
Reading the capitalized letters in the handwritten text, spells out the message “A EQUALS ONE.” Apply that to the large number in the paragraph above, ignoring the crossed out digits.
Hincksville Survey Almanac page: Hint 9
Now that you’ve reversed the large number and you know that A=1, you can start converting that number into letters. The first chunk that you need to convert is 9. The ninth letter of the alphabet is I, so the first blank will be an I.
Hincksville Survey Almanac page: Hint 10
When you convert each chunk of the large number into a letter, you end up with:
9 = I
19 = S
1 = A
19 = S
8 = H
9 = I
13 = M
13 = M
25 = Y
Hincksville Survey Almanac page: Hint 11
Combining the results of the top and the bottom sections of this page reveals the phrase TWO STEPS IS A SHIMMY.
The Revolutionary Cell-O-Matic page: Hint 1
Mr. Hincks is describing a list of the places he visits on Friday nights. He always goes to the same places in the same order, so you can figure out his schedule.
The Revolutionary Cell-O-Matic page: Hint 2
The names of the places that Mr. Hincks often visits are written in the speed dial section, but there appears to be some extra places.
The Revolutionary Cell-O-Matic page: Hint 3
Mr. Hincks always buys a hat, and always gets salsa on it. That must mean that he goes to both Hatt’s Clothiers and Burrito Perfectus on Fridays. You don’t know when he goes there, except that he must go to the hat shop at some point before the burrito shop, otherwise how would he get salsa on it?
The Revolutionary Cell-O-Matic page: Hint 4
Mr. Hincks claims that if he swapped Fresh Fishy and Happily Allspud that he would end the night eating sushi. That must mean that Happily Allspud is the last place he goes on Fridays.
The Revolutionary Cell-O-Matic page: Hint 5
Mr. Hincks buys a retro suit in addition to the hat, so he must stop at Dated Garmentry.
The Revolutionary Cell-O-Matic page: Hint 6
Mr. Hincks claims that a burrito has to come before the halfway point of the night. That means that Burrito Perfectus has to be either his first or second stop. But since we know that he buys a hat before a burrito, we know that he starts at Hatts Clothiers and proceeds to Burrito Perfectus.
The Revolutionary Cell-O-Matic page: Hint 7
Based on everything Mr. Hincks has written, he spends his Friday nights following this schedule:
Hatt’s Clothiers
Burrito Perfectus
Fresh Fishy
Dated Garmentry
Happily Allspud
The Revolutionary Cell-O-Matic page: Hint 8
The phone manual mentions that it stores contacts using the middle letter of each word. If you look at the middle letters of the places that Mr. Hincks visits every week, you’ll see THREE STEPS.
The Revolutionary Cell-O-Matic page: Hint 9
At the bottom of the manual, Mr. Hincks has drawn attention to the fact that you can make shapes using the numbers on your dial pad.
The Revolutionary Cell-O-Matic page: Hint 10
When you trace the numbers at the bottom of the page on the dial pad, it forms one letter for each number. For example, when you trace the “Model”, you just go from 7 to 1, which makes an I.
The Revolutionary Cell-O-Matic page: Hint 11
When you trace them on the dial pad, the numbers at the bottom of the manual form these letters:
Model = I
Certificate = S
Kit = A
Bandwidth = H
Serial = O
Patent = P
The Revolutionary Cell-O-Matic page: Hint 12
Combining the results of the top and the bottom sections of this page reveals the phrase THREE STEPS IS A HOP.
Revitalizer Furnishing page: Hint 1
Mr. Hincks has described several couches available to order. Determine how to enter them into the order form.
Revitalizer Furnishing page: Hint 2
For every description, figure out what color, shape, and trim are being described. Make sure that to stay within the budget of the description, and that the materials you pick are available at the right times.
Revitalizer Furnishing page: Hint 3
The first order is filled out, but the second order could be satisfied by an emerald couch. Since there isn’t a budget for any upcharges, the only options are lounger and executive. Therefore the code for the second order is ELE.
Revitalizer Furnishing page: Hint 4
From top to bottom, the customer notes describe these couches:
Coral Rounded Aristocratic = CRA
Emerald Lounger Executive = ELE
Ruby Atypical Tassels = RAT
Coral Atypical Metallic = CAM
Amber Lounger Lace = ALL
Brown Atypical Tassels = BAT
Pink Extended None = PEN
Dictionary of Dance page: Hint 1
Before you start dancing, it’s helpful to be familiar with how to step. The other pages in this envelope will result in information that you need for this page.
Dictionary of Dance page: Hint 2
A good place to start on this page is to figure out how to fill out the boxes that make up the “dance floor.” Each square will hold a single letter.
Dictionary of Dance page: Hint 3
The names of the dances on this page are all seven letters, and they can be used to fill in the dance floor. You’ll need to get the order from one of the other pages in this envelope, though.
Dictionary of Dance page: Hint 4
The order to fill in the dance grid is found on the Spring Collection Sneak Peek page.
Dictionary of Dance page: Hint 5
Mr. Hincks lists a bunch of animals that he tries to dance like. Once you’ve filled out the order form in the Spring Collection Sneak Peek page, you’ll see those same animals, except you’ll only see the first three letters of their names. For example, the first in the list is CRA which can match with Mr. Hincks dancing like a CRAB.
Dictionary of Dance page: Hint 6
Now that you know the order of animal dance styles, figure out which dance name corresponds to each animal. Use context clues from the description of the dance to determine the matches.
Dictionary of Dance page: Hint 7
From the top to the bottom of the dance floor, the animals and their dance moves are:
Crab = TOPADUE
Elephant = TRYQORN
Rattlesnake = THUMPAH
Camel = TOOPACE
Alligator = TEMPERT
Bat = TROPPER
Penguin = TAPTHUR
Dictionary of Dance page: Hint 8
Mr. Hincks has indicated which square to start dancing from. In each row, perform the dance moves by hopping and shimmying to the left and right, and then collect a letter before moving to the next row (as instructed on the 21 Gardening Styles page).
Dictionary of Dance page: Hint 9
In the first row, start at the U in TOPADUE and follow these instructions: hop left, shimmy right, hop left, shimmy right. That leaves you on the space with the A, so collect that letter and then move to the next row (where you will start on the Q of TRYQORN).
